Farmers Markets Are Essential

Community Food Connections (CFC) is dedicated to making quality, nutritious food more accessible through the Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market (DPFM) and vital partnerships. As an essential resource to our local economy, the CFC mission is focused on strengthening small farmers and businesses that foster a sustainable food system and produce healthy products for the local community.

Here are some examples of how your donations fuel our mission:

Protect Our Local Economy | Provide relief to businesses of all sizes and stimulate the local economy. Growers selling locally create 13 full-time farm operator jobs per $1 million in revenue earned. Those that do not sell locally create 3. Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market supports over 100 local businesses through the farmers market.

Increase Food Access | CFC provides the community access to fresh, wholesome food year-round at our weekly market.  Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market provides people the choice to shop for real food.  We also accept EBT and P-EBT and connect customers with a dollar-for-dollar match to shop Arizona-grown produce.  Additionally, qualifying seniors and families can receive up to $50 in Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons.

Protect Our Food Security | Ensure your farmers have supplies to plant food for the next season and help preserve Arizona’s rural livelihoods and farmland. Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market provides one of the only low-barrier entry points for beginning farmers, allowing them to start small, test the market, and grow their businesses. year-round the market is a community platform for producers of all sizes to sell healthy products to the community.

In order to ensure Community Food Connection’s longevity, diverse sources of funding are essential. Money that comes from our own community empowers us to transform food access and strengthen Arizona’s local food system.
